Post-op day 10
hi can't believe it's been 10 days already since surgery. i'm feeling pretty good. i have lots of energy most days yesterday i slept a lot, i seemed really tired, i have been with my family for the holidays in md so i have been running around like crazy so i guess my body was telling me to rest. tomorrow i'm going home back to delaware to try and get in the swing of things, going to be doing some work from home while healing still. I still have a few more weeks of pureed and i know after wednesday which makes two weeks i need to start adding foods soft foods anyone have any original ideas except ricotta cheese and marinara sauce and chili? please shoot me some messages. Also if anyone needs any support or have any please let me know. So far so good i hope it stays that way. Another question sometimes when i wake up i feel kind of weird in the stomach sometimes it's a queasy feeling or it hurts if i have to use the bathroom or something but i wake up and sit up and stuff and then it quickly goes away, i almost always feel groggy no matter how much sleep i get but it's not bothersome to where i should run to dr wynn about it. oh well we'll see i have my checkup with her on friday january 5th. talk to u soon.
Well I am post-op day 16. In regards to how you feel in the morning I feel the same way. Once I get up and have my carnation instant breakfast then I feel fine. I am not sure but my guess is because we have nothing in our new stomach and it causes a nausiating feeling. As far as soft foods here are some ideas of what I have been doing. No sugar added or sugar free fudge popsicle (has 2 gm of Protein and satisfies my love for ice cream), refried beans with cheese ( I get the no fat ones in a can and they are great), Chicken (from the can) with cream of chicken soup pureed with cheese on top heated in microwave. I hope that helps you with some ideas.

Your quesy feeling could be stomach gases.....you may want to call Dr for script of nexium or something like it to calm the gases down. My surgeon put all his patients on this for the first 6 mos to prevent flare ups like this nature and to keep ulcers to minimum. Give your Dr a call. Better safe than sorry with it.....Food ideas....SF Puddings, soups, SF jello, SF popsicles, mashed pototoes with cheddar cheese mixed in, NSA applesauce with flaxseed added are a few things I ate early out.
