What will 2007 do for you?

Yes its getting to that time....we get to leave ole 2006 behind and start new with 2007. Some of us are on the journey for the beginning....some have been on this journey awhile. But we are all on a journey to health and well being. We need tools to get us to where we want to be.....exercise, diet, vitamins, journaling are just a few things that help us cope. Yes we have to learn to cope with our food addiction. I thought I had things under control for two years but I see that comfort allows the old habits to sneek back in to our lives then they become very hard to evict from our lives. But the power is always with us to turn things around and be positive and follow the right path. 2007 brings new changes for me. I will be back to school....YEAH. I will take better control reigns on my life. I will not let others control my destiny. My quest is to be thinner and healthier every year. I will keep the goal low....lets try for 5 lbs lighter in 2007! That does not seem like an unreasonable goal. I will lower my carb intake. Its way out of control these days. One chump on a chip tastes as good as fifteen right? LOL. I am also going to try 12 things I have never done.....I am hoping to do one a month...... So what is 2007 going to do for you? Do you have a game plan? Lets all take the rest of 2006 and develop one.....make it one you can stick to...... Hugs and Fleece Blankets Debbie

I am going to leave the cookies behind and start eating real meals instead of "grazing". That is way too easy to add extra calories and junk into my day. I am also going to get over the fear that my hip will start hurting again if I exercise and just get started and see what happens. I have been pain free for about three weeks now but I am too scared to get started again because it hurt so badly. Maybe I should get on the treadmill everytime I think about putting junk in my mouth. It is worth a try...I hope whatever you pray for the new year comes true and 2007 is great for everyone. Debbie...Going back to school....Wow...I am impressed..good luck. Love, Ellen

Love your posts, Deb. They're never easy, they make you search your soul. I do love your answers, and pretty much agree with the same. Like Ellen, the cookies need to go and exercising instead of partaking in a sweet is a great idea. I've kept off the smokes (34 weeks, yeahhhh). I love the idea of doing 12 new things. I agree, however, I need to dig deep into my being to find 12 things I want to do. I've been living my life for other's for so long, that it's hard to determine what I want or who I am. Looking forward to 2007. Miss everyone. Dianne

Debbie, this is a great post. I have a few issues that I need to deal with also and will be as of Monday. My biggest thing is exercise, I really need to do it. I love going to the YMCA, but things are tight right now for me so I have put a freeze on my membership, so I need to do something to replace the Y. I have 45 more pounds to lose and would like to do that before my 1 year anniversary. Then I think I am going to start looking into plastic surgery, as long as my insurance will pay for it. I do like the idea of 12 new things in 12 months. I will have to think about that. Thanks for making me think. Hope you and Tim have a great New Year. I made that yummy dessert for Christmas and everyone who tasted it loved it. Deanna
