I am 1 wk post - op and I am really struggling getting my food in. Can't get more than a couple of spoonfuls down at a time. I needs some ideas for pureed foods to use for protein. I have been eating yogurt, tomato soup (really thin), sugar free pudding with protein powder, and mashed cauliflower. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone will tell you something different. But I liked on mashed tuna fish, salmon and purred shrimp and crab. A can of tuna or salmon will last a couple of days. I also ate with baby spoons and crab forks. That way I could not each to much in each bite and did not get the full sensation to quick. Good luck it does get better

Hi, I lived on refired beans with cheese on top. Don't worry about only being able to eat a few spoonfuls. That is totally normal. Anything you can get in is good. It will get easier. Good luck, Ellen

I agree with them, the foods are good choices of protein. Over time it will get easier. I'm almost 4 weeks out and things are definitely much easier to get down now. Good luck Michelle

How about trying ricotta with a little tomato sauce, i pureed a scrambled egg with cheese, canned chicken pureed with shredded cheese, egg salad pureed. I tried to add cheese to anything I could to boost the protein. Vitamin Shoppe has some premixed protein drinks that are pretty good. Chrias also sell Optisource protein drinks. They come in small cartons. I lived on those in the beginning. Good Luck Deb

Cottage cheese, flax seed (grounded) and applesauce was a favorite of mine. I could only get an ounce or two in the beginning so what you are experiencing is normal. Looks like you got a lot of good ideas. You could also make different protein shakes....Peanut Butter/Banana with Chocolate Unjury is really good. Debbie
