For men only!

Do you realize that men only represent 12-15% of the RNY population. Men are more successful at losing during the first nine months. There is not very good information on post-RNY results for males after one year, since most males do not do follow-up appointments with their surgeons or nutritionists. Men have a much higher rate of post-surgical problems. This is partially due to the fact that men who have the surgical procedure have a much higher level of co-morbidities than women, mainly because they don't go to see thier doctors on a regular basis. At least seven women are bound to read this message, probably because it is labeled for men only! Women outnumber men at support group by a 1:10 ratio. Do you get offended by "Just stop eating the frigging donuut". Men are much more likely to encounter a hernia during the first couple of year following the surgery.
