Hello Delaware! Well, week 2 of October is over. How did you do? It's time to report. By the way it is a beautiful day today, so you should be out there starting to click off the miles for Week 3. I just came home from the gym after doing about 15 miles spinning, and then 3.5 miles at the running down to the mall. So report your progress for the week and look at your goal for the month. Did you procrastinate? I had a good week, although it is really tough getting back to the gym after being away. Here's my report for the week: Week 2: 15 mile [running], 46 m Spinning, 20 laps in the pools, 9500 pounds lifting Previous Month (September): 103 miles, no lifting Month to Date (October): 33 miles [avg. 11.5 minute mile], 111m Biking/Spinning, 21,500 pounds (4 body pump classes), 45 laps in the pool (slow) Percent of Month Elapsed: 50.0% Percent Achieved vs. 50 Mile Goal: 66% Percent Achieved vs. 40,000 Pound Goal: 54% Goal for Week of 10/21/06: 15 miles, 10000 pounds I got the carbs back into the 40% range this week. Winter is on it's way so get started now. I have really had to watch my portions and cravings since my last surgery. The first time in three years that I have experienced a problem with cravings. Probably has a lot to do with the meds that they made me take. FYI. Calculate the pounds by multiplying the number of reps by the pounds your lifting, such as if your using 10 pound dumbbells each time you lift your arms you should record 20 pounds.

Hi Rob, I want to join in with you guys but I need help in understanding the system. I go to the gym 3 times a week and do 30-45 minutes on the eliptical, do 10 reps of 3's on the arm extenders w/65 pounds, leg ext 10x3 w/65 pounds, ab ext 10x3 w/65 pounds, back ext 12x3 w/125 pounds, arm curl 10x3 w/50 pounds, hip adj 15x3 w/65 pounds and leg curl 10x3 w/50 pounds leg adj 10x3 140 pounds. So how do I calculate the eliptical exercise? I think I have the weight lifting portion correct based on what I have above which would be 18,225 pounds. Let me know if this is correct. Thanks and hope to see you soon. Prycey Lady RNY 2/2/05

That is correct on the weights and by the way 18,225 is fantastic. On the eliptical depending on the intensity you should be getting in a mile every 10-15 minutes, so best case is 12-13 miles per week. On the low end would be about 10 miles which is not too shabby. Can you imagine getting in a mile when we started this journey. Keep up the good work. I may have to make all of you up the ante if you keep doing so well. Rob

So I guess that my monthly total for the weights would be 54,735 based on three times per week and my guess on the miles on the eliptical range between 6-8 per week depending on how many days per week I go to the gym and the length of time spent on the eliptical. No I can't imagine even going half a mile. Thanks for the inspiration. See you soon. . Prycey Lady RNY 2/2/05

Guess I ed ahead and included part of this week in my figures so the weight lifting part should be 18,255 less because part of the figures I submitted included 10/15/06. The eliptical range is pretty much the same because I did three times per week for the first two weeks in the month at 30-45 minutes. Guess I'm too siked about this! See ya soon. Prycey Lady

Good Afternoon Rob, I must say one thing stress from work is really getting me moviated. I ran 4 time this week with a grand milage of 12.5 miles. My strength traning is a combination of free weight, yoga and stability ball. Which I did three times this week. I even got my kids to goin in with me. Therefor I am half way to my goal this month. Doing great! See how you can turn that stress in something productive. And no one can touch you when your running. Keep up the good work and keep reporting back on your progress. Rob
