Life Conflicts - Support systems

We have so many of them and each one rakes our nerves a different way....coping with some of them is something I don't think I have experience in. I go to support groups for help with them. Let me tell you I got some good ideas in last night's meeting that I am planning on implementing today. Big Thanks to the Group! Perhaps that I why I do go to support groups. I have identified that there are things I can't do alone and there are people that are there that have been in my shoes with the weight and other issues of life and they have felt some of the isolation, anger, and fears of being. We all have them. Not all of us choose to share them. Some of us are better processors of them. When you have a problem that is eating at you....don't keep it to yourself find a support system to help you. Someone that thinks you are worth their time as an individual and can be objectional for you. That is really what a support system is...it can be many or one! My new job's department is called Support Systems...okay its a SS for an AC but hey everyone needs this! Even ACs! LOL. Think about it. Find your support system now before the problem takes over your life and makes it unmanageable again and the great do loop that we got into as the obese person we once were takes over again! Thank you all for being behind me and helping me with the little problems of life. Its very nice to know you have people willing to help. So remember to yell that you need help otherwise no one knows that they should throw out the life preserver. Don't feel that you need to handle everything alone...some things are meant to be done as a TEAM. Debbie

Sounds like I missed a good meeting last night. My son had football practice last night until almost 7pm, by the time I got him home and headed back up there I would have been way late. Support is a wonderful thing, I am glad to know that there are plenty of people around me that I can always go too. Have a great day Deanna

It's so great to have such a loving and supportive family like we do! It is an encouragement for us all because we can all take something away from these meetings. I am trying to get into management on my job and it has been an uphill battle but I won't stop until I reach my goal . It was great seeing everyone and I hope we can all continue to encourage one another. Prycey Lady RNY 2/2/06

Deb, Let us know how you make out with the ideas. What works and what didn't. You know we all love to give advice and if it helps that is awesome. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Day one of advice went well. Lets see what Monday brings. I took out the extra foods that I carried before. I used the positive phase of "Are you really hungry or is something else making you eat this?" on my cooler...It made me think and look before I chumped. As far as the work thing.....I chat with boss Monday PM. I doubt if anything will come out of it but I do hope we get an understanding that the girl training me should have a little compassion and talk to me in a better manner...or she should not talk to me at all. Easy enough. I hate being disrespected now. Debbie PS I am glad I brought up the problem. It made me feel better going to work on Friday. I had ammunication and the problem was not eating me...Or should I say I eating it.
