This is my very first post, and I'm excited to say that I just got my surgery date from my surgeon. Can anyone give me some "pearls of wisdom" from their own past experiences?

Carl told me that he saw you a while ago, and said that you had lost a LOT of weight. CONGRATULATIONS! Who was your surgeon? Besides eating baby food for 4 weeks post-surgery, what else can I expect? How long were you out of work? Did you find the adjustment difficult?

Woo Hoo!!! Fantastic for you!!! I never did eat any baby food (just couldn't stomach the thought). Don't go out and buy a bunch of stuff before surgery because your tastes will DEFINATELY change. Taste test some protein powders (Susan Maria's website sells sample packets of all of the protein powders they carry) and have a few on hand post op. I did alot of pureed chilli, refried beans with cheese, pureed chicked w/bbq sauce, etc. the first month post-up. Most important the first few days is to get your fluids in. Propel fitness water mixed wuith unflavored unjury were my best friend. Now my best friend is Nectar Iced tea flavor mixed with peach ice tea crystal lite. Get you some of thoise little baby snack cups with lids and a baby spoon. Those were the biggest aid in slowing my eating down until my full signal started working properly again. Oh and DON'T EAT THAT "ONE MORE BITE" it's a killah!

Great advice! The chili sounds like a winner--especially since I LOVE chili! I like the sound of the BBQ chicken, too! I just purchased the book "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies", and it has some really good food suggestions as well. Good point with the baby snack cups--Dollar Store here I come! How long ago was your surgery? Are there certain foods that you miss not having? If so, how do you handle that?
