Home from surgery
I am home from Lap Band surgery. Dr Irgau and Dr Peters were great. Only pain I am having is the gas pains in the chest area. I am trying to get my liquids and protein in, but I am having a hard time telling the differance between being full and the gas and swelling sensation and pain......I do not want to pu****Any suggestions..
David, walking will eliminate a lot of the gas. It is not unusual not to know full from empty. At 1st you have to wing it and you'll learn quickly when you have had enough. Usually the uncomfortable feeling in your chest is a signal. So is burping, sneezing and hic-cupping. Take it easy and go easy on yourself. Each day it'll get easier. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi David - glad you are okay! I actually had to turn my oven timer on to go off every hour to walk around the stupid house 5 -10 times while clutching my tummy. I had a lot of pain as you know from one stitch - the one high under my left rib cage.
Anyway, the walking and time were all that helped me. A couple of days. So glad you are okay!!
Walking will help eliminate the gas. The swelling will take time to subside. I added protein powder to my Cream of Wheat with 8oz of Skim milk for a full feeling. Also I added cheese to soups for added protein. Keeping my protein levels high still keeps me from getting hungry. Hope this helps. Any questions please feel free to contact me. Take care...Sharon
