so the waiting begins............
Well I called last week to schedule my consult and when I hadn't heard I called back to find out the wait. Well they aren't even calling everyone until the first week of Sept to make the appointment. So I guess the waiting begins....
On another note I had my appointment with my GP yesterday and he's 100% behind me on the whole procedure.

Well sounds like it is a step in the right direction. I don't understand, though. When I called back in Sept 2003, I was given a date right away. It was for Feb 2004 (five months out), but it was given to me at the time of the phone call. That was back when there were only two docs in the office. I heard after docs 3, 4, and 5 joined the team, that people were calling and getting right in. I guess although the # of docs increased, the patient ratio has increased even greater. This is the absolute best team of surgeons pre-surg, surg and post-surg. We are lucky to have them. You are in great hands.

Hi Michelle,
Dont worry. It will go fast for you once you have your appointment and the checklist they give you to complete all your clearings. They say it usually takes about eight weeks from the beginning until you have your surgery. If you dont have issues like I did with your insurance you'll breeze through everything. Once you find out your appointment date try to schedule your cardiac clearance and your pulminologist(sp?) a couple days or so after your initial appt. It will speed things up. If I can share anything I know I would be happy to feel free to email me if you want.
Good Luck on your journey!!
