I am new here.... i am undecided as to which surgery i am going to have done. I have been doing my research now for 4 months and i just went to my first consultation with Dr. Michael Peters this past Friday ( i am leaning towards GB). Also, I attened the Tuesday night heathy journeys meeting and I very much enjoyed it and learned some things i didnt know. Everyone there was so nice and welcomed me into the group. My mom and my Fiance are the greatest support that there can be but, I am definitley going to come to every support group meeting I can to be around people who are going thru what I am or have already went through it. Everyone is more then welcomed to email me - I am very open to talk with anyone about what I am going thru and I would love to know what you have went through. Thanks!!!!

Research each of the surgeries and look at the pros and cons....that will help you with your decision. A good support system through this process is good! My hubby attends meetings with me and learns alot too! Hope to see you at a meeting soon. As soon as I can get to one again! Take care and good luck in your decision process. Debbie

Michelle, There is a meeting the last Tuesday of the month at St. Francis from 6:00 to 7:30. This will be the last meeting at that site as the support group meetings will be at the CHRIAS building the following month. Hope to see you there. FYI, there are also meeting in the Rt. 202 area if that is closer.

Hi A, It was nice to meet you at the meeting the other nite... and so awesome you mom was there to support you. I emailed you already then noticed your post I wanted to add.... Looks like your doing the right thing. Research, research and research!! The Delaware board have been kinda slow so check out the main messagebaord too. Anyone you talk to on the OH boards are so helpful and so willing to share what they know. I went to each type of surgery message board and gained more information on the RNY, lapband, and the DS but for me I chose the RNY gastric bypass. Each person has to decide whats best for them. Good Luck and keep me posted Sharon

Hi Kiana and welcome to the group. Sounds like with the knowledge that you have already gained as well as the willingness and open-mindedness you have for learning and researching more info about surgery, that your journey will be a smooth one. Post any questions, etc. Dianne
