Kinda WOW for me
Rodger and I went Canoeing down the Brandywine yesterday! We put in at Chadds Ford and took out down at Thompsons Bridge. It was great! I never woulda done that pre-op! I'm a little sore today in my lower back and upper shoulders and slightly sunburned but not too bad. We're going to go again next weekend with my daughter. We didn't take her this time because I hadn't been in a canoe since I was 12 and didn't want to risk having her with me in case I screwed up. We did hit a couple of rocks cause I was busy looking down at the fisheys and not paying attention to what was happening ahead of me (I was in front), and apparently (according to my husband) I have a big Fat head that he couldn't see thru (I can't imagine!). Thank god our canoe is Kevlar and it would take a chain saw in order to poke a hole in it!
We also bought a Lance slide-in camper (the kind that sits in the bed of our pick-up truck) a few weeks ago. Before Surgery I never would consider one because, as you all know, I am a Princess and I am all about the bathroom facilities, and I could never fit my fat a$$ in one of those little camper pottys. Well not only can I potty in private now, but I also have enough room to take a shower in there too! We're getting the AC unit installed in it this weekend, then I can truly travel in my Princess Fashion! Anybody have any suggestions on good campsites. I prefer ones that have full hookups (water, electric, sewer, cable TV; nah I don't want much do I!?), Oh and princess here likes to have a swimming pool to waller in too!
Dineen,
Keep up the good work!!! I am so impressed. We drove by the Brandywine yesterday (right by Chadds Ford) on our way to my inlaws trailer that they have in a camp ground near Lancaster. It's called Spring Gulch and is about an hour from De. We talked about the canoeing also (hubby and I as we drove by). It is something I might consider, now that I am not afraid that I'll sink the canoe. I at your 'big head' comment... that was so funny. My daughter is planning on going camping (in a tent mind you, she is a size "0" and LOVES the heat) down at the De state seashore parks. They have lots of sites down there that I think offer all the amenities. Good luck and have lots of fun.
Princess D you are too much! I gave up the camping stuff long time ago....back ached all the times we went so roughing it for me these days is putting me in a Holiday Inn for three days. LOL. Canoeing sounds like fun but would require me to work with hubby in it and I could see us making the same kind of comments to one another....its best we stay with the one person kayak. He can do his thing and I can do mine...if one tips over the other can help. Maybe LOL.
