It only took 16 months after my surgery but finally, I was able to let go of the rest of my size 30 clothes. It was like letting go of a part of me that I wasn't ready to leave behind. I can't believe how difficult it was to let go of the last of them. Gigee

GOOD!!!! I got rid of my 22's almost a year ago. Glad to do it too. Do you feel overwealmed when you shop now? I get so confused by all of my choices that so many times I just don't buy anything (which my hubby is thankful for). I think I need someone to just bring the outfits to me to try on. There's a girl here at work who dresses really neat and I find myself copying some of her outfits. I hope she doesn't notice I've also found myself looking thru the plus sizes longingly just because the choices are so limited. Does that make sense? Or am I just a freak?

She's a super freak, super freak she's super freaky.... yow *grin* I miss the plus size area of Dress Barn. The style of clothing on that side of the floor was more to my taste. And please tell me... why, just because the size is smaller are the tops and jackets and skirts shorter? I still frequent goodwill. I love goodwill. I can leave there with 6 outfits for under 20 bucks! wohooo! And I admit, I had to clean out my closet and drawers so I could have room for all the stuff that now fits lol. It was tough though.

I still have that problem...I have things that fit and things that are still big. I love saying I have things that are big on me. I never could say that before as a matter fact some of the things I bought were 6X and well I wasn't sure that I could find things any bigger than that! It was getting to be really scary in the clothing department. I still have my surgery outfit that is all from those days but I am hanging on to some of my 20 somethings....why....because they are big! I don't want to grow into them just to feel them not fit me like a glove makes me happy. Weird huh! I have tried Goodwill for stuff. I can never find anything I like there....I wish I could...Tim would be happier if I got 6 outfits for under $20!

When things settle down for you we'll take a Saturday and go Goodwill hunting. It can be fun. I always seem to get lucky at the one on Kirkwood Highway. I almost kept the pants I wore home from the hospital. Like a momento. Then at the last minute just tossed them too. And I admit, I did keep some of my bigger t-shirts and shorts. I sleep in them now Love ya! Gigee

Gigee, Congradulations on doing this !!!! This is a problem we all face. I love the goodwill and thrift stores. If you ever get to Rehobeth, check out New Life thift store behind Jiffy Lube. They really have bargains. Sweaters are 3/$5. I go to the Goodwill in D.C. so much the cashier knows me by name. She even picked something out for me the last time I was in there and tells me I buy smaller sizes at each visit. I have a problem with: I like the plus sizes better but they don't have my size. Like you, I still want mine longer and some sleeve to hide my bat wings. Lane Bryants just opened an outlet in Rehobeth. Where were they when I needed them? I have to tell you I did go in and check out the store but came old empty handed. Wow Hooo!!!!!! See you lighter. Joanne

GIGEE!!! HUGS!!! I'm so happy for you! I haven't let go of all my old stuff, but don't plan to either. Some of the largest items I'm keeping to remind me of where I was and where I do not wish to return, that and they're things from my sister's wedding and when I was pregnant with my son, etc... I'm down from a 36+ to an 18-20 right now, and still losing. I've lost 140lbs already...well, okay, half a pound more before 140, but close! I haven't seen you since surgery and lost your phone number, give me a call okay? Miss you!!! (302) 559-2393. Rachel

I was oh so happy to get rid of all those large sizes... However, my husband made me keep the famous size 28 jeans that was featured in the News Journal article with me and my two kids in my pants. Every now and then when we have company over he'll tell me to go get those old pants out and show everyone. My husband and my kids just love it...
