Hi Everyone, it was one week yesterday since my surgery. Everything went well, seen Dr. MacRae yesterday and she said everything looked good. I think the worst was getting the drainage tubes pulled out of my arms, it was awful. I still have tubes in my stomach, I go back on friday to get them out. I don't look forward to that at all! I could've never got thru this if it wasn't for my daughter she took care of me, changed my dressings everyday, fixed my meals, helped me get a shower etc;. Having my arms done made it more difficult for me but I'm glad I did it at the same time. I'm done with surgery, no more for me. I have cut back on the pain meds, each day has been getting better. I have wear this girdle type binder around my stomach for 6 weeks, I guess thats to hold everything together while I heal. I slept in my lounge chair the first few days, it was just to difficult to get in and out of bed. My advice when having plastic surgery. Make sure you have everything in the house you will need while you recovery. Have someone to help you as much as possible, you have to drain your tubes 3-4 times a day and keep a record of how much comes out and what color it is to take with you to the doctor in one week and your dressings need to be changed daily. This determines if your tubes can come out or need to stay in longer. I'm glad its over and it feels wonderful to have all the extra skin removed, I had 12 pounds of skin removed from my tummy and it is great! Now I can't wait to heal and some of the swelling to go down to see how much better I will feel. No more back and leg problems. Now when I go clothes shopping I don't have to buy bigger clothes so they will fit over my tummy. Sandy
