What can I expect?

Now that the medical stuff is out of the way..well at least all but cardio and psych...what can I expect at my first meeting at PMRI tonight? Would like to be prepared for whatever. I got clearance from belly doc--endoscopy was normal. Pulmonology cleared me. Cardiologist is seeing a blockage I have had since 97, but he wants to take a look at it anyway, and will probably either balloon it or implant another stent. I will also be having facet joint injections for my very severe back pain. They are supposed to give pain relief for up to 4 months. If I time it right, I will be having maximum relief during the time I will need to do alot of walking, and by the time the injections wear off, I will have lost enough weight that I can exercise with minimal pain if any at all. My tome on the bench is getting closer and closer...see you all there soon. KathyG

Don't worry about the PMRI Classes. Just pay attention. They are very informative. They will explain what to expect and give you ideas and pointers on how to take care of yourself post-op.

Thank you for your reply. I already went through all of that with my husband when he had his surgery in Sept. 04. From immediately post-op to what to expect 2 years post-op...I learned all of it. I wonder if I could challenge the classes and bypass that part. Not that I don't -want- to do it, but Wilmington is a 2-1/2 hour drive away. I will be spending 5+ hours in Rt.1 traffic (anyone who lives here knows what that can be like in the summer!) for a 2 hour class going over what I already know. Hmmm...maybe I can talk to them tonight and exlplain my situation-- the drive time, the gas, the tolls and the stress of fighting beach traffic on Rt. 1... Maybe they can cut me a break.
