Long time no type...
I didn't know I was going to have surgery either, I had sudden abdominal pain on June 28th that was accompanied by vaginal bleeding... I went to the women's health wing at Christiana and they discharged me saying I needed to have my uterus removed and things of that nature...
Returned to the regular ER on the 29th when pain grew stronger at work, I couldn't function. They did tests, CAT scans, ultrasounds, etc... and released me again in the same level of pain.
Friday the 30th I called CHRIAS and told them that I was in a lot of pain, what I had already gone through, I was grasping at straws trying to figure out what's going on with me and Dr Peters admitted me to the hospital. They continued to do tests, I was unable to urinate, I would strain and push and nothing would come out, it was horrible. They catheterized me a few times a day. They then told me that I would have surgery on July 4th (they told me this just before breakfast on the 4th... it would have been my first breakfast since being admitted).
They did exploratory laproscopy and repaired an umbilical hernia, and internal hernia and detached an adhesion... but they didn't find the source of the pain I went in with originally. Now I have that original pain (still) which isn't getting better, and the surgical pain which is making me crazy and I hate sitting around so long waiting for what will hopefully be recovery and not knowing what is going to happen.
I never hear about the PMRI meetings... I've tried to call Bonnie and no answer from her, the number I have for Vickie has been disconnected, Kenn and Gigee's numbers are missing, and it took me forever to have time to get online to say hi... it is quite frustrating. How are they? Is everyone okay?
HUGS and love to all. I hope you are doing well!

Well that just sucks!!!! Have you seen Dr. Kobasa to rule out the first diagnosis? Vaginal bleeding for an RNY patient could become serious because of the malabsorbtion issue. Your iron levels could drop significantly. Make sure you take some extra iron.
PMRI has the meetings posted online. You can get to their webpage thru Christiana Care's website. They are really coming up with some good topics. It's not the same thing over and over anymore.
Vicie posted here the other day on one of Elissa's posts. She just had surgery on her leg. Bonnie is still having troubles with her Colon and almost never posts anymore and I haven't seen her at a meeting in ages. Don't know about Kenn and Gigee has been busy. I'm gonna start whinin to her about needing a pedicure soon. I missed the last one and my feet totally suck right now!!!
Hope you feel better soon!
