Hello everyone I have a few questions for those that are 1 yr + out of surgery.....Has anyone ran into issues of depression or mood swings? My body seems to be going through something right now and I can't deal with it. I have made an appt. with my PCP but was just wondering if anyone has came across this problem.... Thanks for any advice... Christie

Christie, When the weight loss started to come to a stop for me I was doing some serious mood swings and depressed....I believe some of it was hormonal. We do put our bodies through the ringer with this surgery. Its a good idea to see your PCP and see if its just hormones.

Hey Christie, I'm almost a year out, and I've noticed it too. I just figured it was the beginning of menapause, but I don't know for sure. Some days I can cry at the drop of a hat, and others I'm such a b..... I've also found I'm more listless and a lot less energetic. It's all I can do to get up - go to work and come home somedays. Needless to say I haven't been exercising like I should. I'm hoping it's a phase, but...???

Me, too. I just thought that it was early signs of the change.... I hear a lot about mood swings and wls. Guess its an adjustment we have to make. Dianne

When I was 6 months post op I was put on anti-depression meds after 2 more surgeries and having to spend 27 days at Beebe. The doctor didn't even ask...he recommended it to me and gave me the script. Sometimes I think its a good thing... it helped a little but now I think I am not gonna feel better until I find another surgeon who can help me get rid of the pains. I wish you well....
