Tuesday's meeting: Topic
Hello everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted in a few weeks but things have been busy.
I thought I would encourage everyone to come out to the meeting at Victory Christian Fellowship this Tuesday June 20th at 7p.m.
The topic will be :WLS Surgery and Relationships: Past, Present and the Future
I thought this would be a topic that might relate to all of us, whether you are pre surgery, early out, or an old timer. We all have relationships with family, friends, co-workers etc. and many of them are a little different after our surgery. Come and share some of your stories with others and we'll have an opportunity to encourage one another in this JOURNEY TO HEALTH.
One more note on a personal level: I have NEVER liked roller coasters because of the feeling of my stomach being in my mouth when the thing plunges. Well I just got back from Disney with my grandkids. It was an awesome trip. So much energy to do so much activity and not get tired out. Well, I decided to try a roller coaster (actually three of them) just to see what would happen with my new pouch. That little pouch stayed right where it was supposed to and I did fine. Not scared either, although I screamed for the "special effects aspect" with my eight year old grandson. I was able to sit on the ground AND get up again too with the five year old, while watching the parade and didn't look like the "goodyear blimp" It was a great WOW moment!
Hope all is well and I look forward to seeing you all at the meeting.
WHO WILL BE THE STAR THIS MONTH?
Debbie, you have been a wonderful star and your light always shines on these boards, thank you for sharing with so many of us your struggles, successes, and insights as well as your therepy sessions. You are always willing to be an inspiration to so many.
God bless you and we are all praying for you.
God bless,
Pastor Faye
Disney sounds awesome and I bet those Grandchildren will always have that memory that Grandmom went with them on the rides and screamed just like they did as kids....Memories are good. And you are leaving them with lots of them.
I am hoping to be there to do the presenting....I do miss all my meetings. I feel like I am on support withdrawal right now. Although I am not...you guys are always there for me.
My focus is on trying to keep Gram comfortable and well she does make it difficult with saying things like she is a burden to us and we can't do what we normally do. I keep reminding her that we are here for her and to spend time with her. I really don't think she has ever put herself first for anything. So I see some of my problems in life are genetic......I think doing the WLS for me....setting up support systems and reaching out has helped me alot with this genetic "do it myself attitude". Perhaps I will be able to reach out to someone later in my life without feeling bad about it.
If I don't make it I have a back up to get the STAR moving....Its really getting antsy with me. You know it likes to travel every thirty days and I have messed up its routine....it told me that the other day! LOL. I told the STAR be patient and you will be going to a really good place real soon.
Thanks for the prayers and the support.
Debbie
Pastor Faye, As you probly know I live in Sussex County. My daughter Debbie will be coming to your meeting Tuesday. Debbie is just starting her process for surgery and is very scared due to seeing the complications I went thru. I am sending her to your meeting for I have confidence that you guys will all take good care of her. I had open surgery and Debbie wants laproscopic. Will someone please take time to spend with her one on one. I know there is so many of you guys who have had laproscopic surgery and know the ropes. She already has a Dr. and appointment. At 33 she is still my baby who lives in NewCastle. She doesn't have internet so you don't see her on here. Oh and about roller coasters!!! I just went to Hersey Park and got on one with my grandkids. I never did this as a child so it was a new beginning for me. I know you had a great time at Disney World. I went about 4 years ago and was to obese to enjoy it but I will go again. This time Debbie and I both will be able to walk to we drop. See you lighter. Joanne
Dianne, Hey you found another one of my relatives and you know her too! Yes!!! She use to hang at Subway by Ron's place. That is the one and only Debbie Hammond. Everyone know's Debbie. As you know, once you meet her you never forget her. She is a real people's person. Funny!! For years I was known as Debbie's mother. We had a good laugh after the meeting last night for she said people were asking her if she was Joanne's Daughter. I finally got a name! Wahoo!!!! See you lighter. Joanne
