Let's Talk Sugar
Ok, so I'm over a year out now. Am doing great. Can't complain a bit. But sugar and dumping has decided to toss me for a loop.
I have always been careful with my sugar. I know I can do about 9 grams and do fine. I have been that way all along. Until recently.
All of a sudden, it just doesn't matter. 4 gms, 6 gms, 2 gms. I'm going to dump. Heart about to pound out of my chest. It's so hard that I can see my shirt moving with each beat. Dizzy, sleepy. Full fledge, hard driven, dumping. It just stops me for an hour.
I just find this odd. Not that I'm complaining. It will keep me away from sugar completely. But don't you find it odd that I can go 12 months then all of a sudden my sensitivty for sugar intensifies?

Sweetie, I'd really suggest you talk to your PCP about this and have some labs done. This isn't a good thing to be honest. A bit of dumping over sugar is 'good', but what you're experiencing can be a sign of potential health problems. Not trying to scare you, just don't want you to think this is 'normal' even if others can say they go through the same thing - or to ignore it as a possible warning sign. (((HUGS))) and yeah, some men DO suck lol.
LOL, you are just all over the boards. I love it.
I will talk to her. I am due to see her again soon. My surgeon as well. With these ulcers I seem to be seen all over all the time. It's been weird! Last labs were done in January, they were good at the time. And you may be right, it's time again.
I'm headed to bed. Grumpy should be put to sleep LOL.
Love you tooter!!

Hi Gigee,
Time to get to your PCP and have some labs done. Your body is a temple and you need to make sure that you check out to make sure all your levels are are healthy. Magnesium and B-12 are two that you need to keep track of, but not the only ones. Stay healthy for us and keep belting out those tunes.

Gigee,
Just remember that doctors are actually good people now, unlike those evil ones that used to always tell us we needed to lose weight to get healthy prior to surgery. Now they seem to have acquired a lot of good healthy habit info that we can actually use. So don't put off your cardiologist appointment, you don't want to fool with your heart (physical not emotional).
I am already going a little crazy. Here I am shelved for a few weeks, and Dwight is out there training for the Bike across Virginia (400 miles).
Look forward to seeing you.

I have heard other complain about the late onset of dumping (Unfortunately I am NOT one of them....yet). But it is wise to see the doctor before just writing it off as something that just happens (even though it seems like it might be). ALWAYS make your doctor aware of ANY changes, even the minor ones.
Luv Ya!
