Very Grateful
I decided to share with you my recent health issues. I am doing this to let you know what a wonderful group of Doctors we have at Chrias. Dr. Wynn may have saved my life............
I had RNY in January 2005 after having lurked on this site for over 1 1/2 years. I listened to every word that you all posted. Yes I am a "Lurker"! I have felt each and everyone's success and struggles because I too also had them.
I go to my OBGYN faithfully and get mammograms and sometimes an ultrasound to see how my fibroids are doing. November 2005 I had an ultrasound done and my fibroids had increased in size but they were not uncomfortable. We decided to wait until I saw her again in August 2006 to set up a time to have a Hysterectomy. I was a little dissapointed in this because I thought that if I had this done it would help me with my weight loss. Well in January 2006, I had my yearly check up with Dr. Wynn and she told me not to wait to go back to my Doctor and tell her that my fibroids felt like a 20 week old baby. I immediately went to my Doctor and we set a date for early March to have a complete hysterectomy. I had the procedure done and the next week when I went back to have my staples removed I found out that I had Cancer. They found Cancer in my ovaries. I am telling you this because I truly believe that Dr. Wynn saved my life. I will begin chemo sometime in the near future and am looking forward to putting this chapter of my life behind me.
Why did I share this? Because without WLS and the GREAT team of Doctors at CHRIAS my OBGYN would have done my hysterectomy later and my Ovarain Cancer would be much worse than it is now.
I want you all to appreciate WLS even with its ups and downs as it truly has givien us a new lease on life!
Thanks,
Linda (the other Linda)
