Topic: Some DC Metro Buddies?? (X-Post)
Hey everyone!! I had my RNY about 4 months ago, but I haven't really been on the local boards much. I live in Annandale. I would love to get to know some people who live in the DC Metro/NOVA area who understand what I am going through. Maybe we could work out together, or hang out together , or --- whatever. Is there already some sort of group that gets together (if so, can I join?) Wanna start one?? Let me know

Thanks for posting!
Melinda, I am considering Dr. Afram for my surgery. Can you tell me a little about your experience with him and his office?

They are from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.
I'm going to start going to the meetings in July. (I believe the last meeting of this month is next Tuesday (June 15).

I am feeling technologically incapable, so I didn't put it into table form, but you could add my dr. to the list
Dr. Afram: Open RNY, George Washington University Hospital (its a Center of Excellence), $1500 program fee
I think they work with many insurances, but I "know" they have a contact at BC/BS (Care First)

Hi DC folks!
I started this list and thougt it could be very useful especially to newbies. Would you help me fill it out??
Thanks!
PS...under surgery, this does not necessarily mean that that is the ONLY type of surgery that surgeon performs, that is just the info that was posted by the patient.

Topic: Dr. Terrence Fullum
Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Fullum in DC/Maryland? I'm just wondering if you could tell me anything about his pre-op diet and the post-op diet schedule. Also, how long did you stay in the hospital and how long after surgery was your first follow-up appointment?
Any info would be appreciated!

Topic: RE: Support groups in DC area
Hi. You probably have already found a support group, but I wanted to let you know that GW Hospital. When I emailed them and asked about their support groups (b/c I had surgery in Philly), the nurse in charge of the group said:
"Our support group meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. The first meeting of the Month, we try and have a speaker and the group talks for a shot time after. The second meeting of the month is more like an open forum. Please feel free to come in anytime, you do not have to be a patient being seen at our practice to attend, all are invited."
the meetings are at 2150 Pennsylvania Ave, NW. They are on the 6th floor surgery area waiting room.
