Volunteers Needed for gastric pacemaker

Volunteers Needed Tuesday, August 3, 2004; Page HE05 Researchers at the George Washington University Hospital Weight Management Program are seeking additional volunteers for their study of the surgically implanted gastric pacemaker. Study participants must meet the following criteria: ? Be between the ages of 18 and 65. ? Have a body mass index between 35 and 55. ? Women of childbearing age must have adequate birth control to avoid getting pregnant during the two-year course of the study. ? Have been obese for five years or more. ? Agree to follow a diet component. ? Plan to be geographically stable for the next two years. ? Be willing to travel to the hospital for periodic follow-up. ? Have had no previous gastric surgery.
