HI Karen,
Welcome to the CT DS'ers! I am having surgery 7/15 with Dr. Pomp. I wish you success on your journey and I am sure your day will be here before you know it.
Bonnie contacted me and I mentioned sometime in August (after my recovery) would be a good time to get together. BTW, I am in North Haven.

Hi Bonnie,
I'd love to join your support group. I'm in Cheshire (New Haven Co), and I'm just starting this process. I'm registered for Dr. Roslin's seminar, and I hope to have him do my DS.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Is this something we need to sign up for, or can we just show up that day? It sounds like a great opportunity.

May I ask what is it about the RNY that you are unhappy with. I do understand that you have already had the surgery and cannot reverse it. I had my RNY in March 2009 with the exception of a little gas problems I am happy with it.,

Hi All - Hope you all enjoy the holiday weekend! I'm doing well, my loss has slowed down a lot - more then I am happy with this soon out from surgery - but I'm down 75 pounds (or so given the day) - I still have a journey ahead but I am so thrilled I revised to the bypass. I am still not exercising the way I should be... one day at a time!
I actually wore a pair of capris that had a size 12 tag on them! I'm mostly in size 14 now - which is a long way from tight size 24! I know to reach my goal of mostly wearing size 8 I need to get my butt moving - and I know I will it's just a matter of time!
Hope you are all well!

I have planned a Greet & Meet for any member both Pre-Op and Post-Op who would like a secluded private introduction to Pool Aerobics or Try out some gym equipment without a lot of spectators.
I am a water rat at the Faulkners Physical Therapy Center in Wallingford. I love working out in the water** and thought it would be a nice way to introduce members to water aerobics or weight training in a supportive environment
I have gotten permission to bring CC Cares members to an introduction night so they could try out the pool or gym "Your Choice or both" You will have to sign a waiver for the night. You do NOT need a bathing suit if you don’t have one, Shorts and a Shirt will do fine. The water temperature is 91 degrees and has a ramp for easy access.
I would like to meet for coffee or a light snack at the Wallingford "99" on Route 5 at 6:00Pm then caravan over to the Pool at 7:00. We will be following the Water Aerobics class so we do not have access until 7:15 and it will end at 8:00.
Also just for you knowledge anyone who would like to make a night of it and go to a cheap movie afterwards, the Holiday Cinema on Route 5 has a $5.00 Movie Night on Tuesday. But you can decide that afterwards
See the Links section for directions to “99" and Faulkners
** FYI Exercising in the water creates 12% more resistance then normal exercise. And it is easier on the joints. AND YOU SMELL BETTER AFTERWARDS

The
Donkey In The Well Story
Here's a favorite motivational story. It's been around the Internet for awhile and I don't know the author. There's a good message here . . .
One day a farmer´s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn´t worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone´s amazement, he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer´s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off.
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well, is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step upward!
