This sounds like it was a lot of fun, I just joined so I missed it. How did it turn out, are you going to do it again, I so badly want to get into the pool! I have knee and back problems and the pool is the best place for me! I would love to learn more.

Nice to see you around again. I get my blood work done every three months, but don't seem to have the calcium defficiency you speak of, mine is B12. I inject myself every 6-8 weeks with Cyanocobalamin 1ml with a 25g 5/8" syringe. Without it, I'm dragging. I can actually feel when I need it.

From what I can see from their web site: www.backushospital.org/bariatrics , it looks like they are only offering the Lap Band for now.

Topic: Backus Hospital to offer WLS.
My alarm clock is set on radio mode and this morning I woke up to a local news report that Backus Hospital in Norwich will start doing WLS. I have no details but heard they will be starting in a few weeks.

Congratulations to you!!! You should be so very proud of yourself! I had lots of complications with the TT, infection, MRSA, etc., so you can't go by my experience. It was an outpatient surgery, but I ended up hospitalized 2x and had a wound vac for 6 weeks. Good luck to you and keep up the good work; it's worth it!

Congraulations to you!!!! I too had Dr. Bell (RNY 5/11/09) I have had great success and agree it was the best decision I ever made. I have lost about 110 pounds to date and am considering a TT. Initially I thought I wouldn't get any additional surgery, but as time goes on I am considering some plastic surgery. How was the recovery from your TT? How long did you stay out of work?
Again, congratulations it is so nice to hear from someone 6 years post op because I am sooo worried about gaining!

Topic: My 6 year anniversary
Hello All!
Yesterday was my 6 year anniversary of my Lap RNY with Dr. Robert Bell. To say I made the right decision 6 years ago, is an understatement! It has been difficult at times, but it was the best decision I ever made. I initially lost approximately 85 lbs and have kept all but 6-8 lbs. off. I had skin removal surgery 3 years (TT), and would love to have more plastic work done, but it's very expensive. All in all, I'm happy ! If you are considering this or any other type of WLS, please let me urge you to do it ...you won't be sorry! Having a "normal" life is awesome .

Tammy,
Reading your post has motivated me to look into a revision from lap band to bypass. This band worked for me initially but 5 years after the fact, am still having significant issues with it. Time to do some research and make a call.
Thanks for the kick in the tush I needed.
