I seem to be getting mixed feelings from family members. My daughter is a nurse, and keeps reminding me of all the surgical risks involved. My husband thinks I can do this on my own without surgery. Well, I am 51 yrs old, and have been overweight my entire life, my current weight is 230 lbs, and I'm 5ft 2 1/2". Now all the health problems are creeping up, border line type 2 Diabetes, border line hypertension, feet swollen, etc, etc.
My boss had Gastric Bypass in Feb of this year, and she looks great. She is my inspiration, so I started to research, talked to my doctors which are all for it, met with Jane (RN) in Dr Bell's office. According to my Insurane carrier, I have requirements to meet, one of them is nutrition counseling for 6 months. My BMI is 40, and with all the other health issues, I am sure I will be covered. So, at this point I am reading and reading, talking to people.
Hope I am making the right decision

I have been talking to as many poeple as possible, and investing all pros and cons.
