I know of a couple of people who used that Doctor and had the same issues. They ended up
changing doctors! I would keep calling until you get the results you need! Be a persistant until you get your results, after all .... they are YOURS! Good Luck!
They gave me a form to get my bloodwork done. I went the Saturday following and had it done. Just about 2 weeks ago. I have heard nothing from them since. My PCP was copied on the results so I called them to have a copy sent to me... I was told "I'm busy... leave me a voice mail" and was dropped into the voice mail system to leave a message. That was on Tuesday. I gave them a day and called yesterday.. I was told "I'm busy" and they dropped me into the voice mail system AGAIN. So I figured I would call my surgeon. I called and got the results.. they advised me as to what to tweek. I asked for a copy of my levels to be faxed to me... they said "Sure!" like always... I never got it. Called them back... they said "Sure"... never got it.
I understand that doctor's are busy. I understand that I am not the only person they have to focus on. I don't call with the little things. I call when I have genuine concerns or can't find the answer to my questions any other way. I don't have them on speed dial and if it wasn't for the need to fill out insurance forms, I wouldn't know their first names. All I am asking for is a little respect. Being told "I'm busy" just isn't acceptable to me. The doctor's are busy. I get it. But they employ entire staffs of people. Is there only 1 person in the entire practice that knows how to use a fax machine? I believe that the expectation of privacy umbrellas the entire staff in a doctor's office. They all have access to my records. There isn't a single person there who's playing solitare on their state of the art computer that can pause the game long enough to fax me a document? Don't know how to use a fax machine? Fine. How about a copier? I will happily come and pick up the results. I don't normally enjoy being the squeaky wheel so I tend to bite my tongue. But this is just ******g me off.
Anyway, sorry to vent. Just needed to get that out of my system.

I am going to say this as best I can keep the faith. This new process was not the same as the band, and while I am seeing the success it took me a few weeks to really be at ease with the difference. The pain to me was almost none with my band and recovery was much quicker I went back to work after about 3 and a half weeks. I am not working this session, but I could not imagine standing for 3 hours teaching even on my best days now and trust me I feel better every day, but I am still not 100%.
I am struggling with hydration because you truly can't drink as much with the bypass as you could with the band. This is different and I feel the difference, I am slowly starting to feel a little hungry but not like I did with the band, I was hungy about 3 weeks after surgery. Wednesday will be my 5 weeks since surgery.
The progress is slow and steady but I am on the losing side so I am excited please keep me posted and best of luck with Dr. Valin.

Personally, I am not big on the vanilla and only some of the chocolates work for me. I go to Vitamin Shoppe and buy the Nectar juice protein. They come in a variety of flavors and I mix them with different flavors of Crystal Light to change it up. My 2 favs of the Nectar are Strawberry Kiwi and Fuzzy Navel, but every person has their oown preference. They have another brand that's juice based one called 4EverFit, but they only have it in 2 flavors, Strawberry Kiwi and CranRazz, both of which I like.
One word of warning tho, The Nectar flavors don't tend to blend easy in a shaker and especially with ice. I tend to use luke warn water with the protein and shake till blended and then pour it over ice, since I prefer my beverages cold or hot. The 4EverFit one blends better. Just doesn't have the same variety.
If I do Chocolate tho, I get the Body Fortress brand from Walmart. It's only 16.00 for 2 lbs. The Nectar is around 36 and the 4EverFit is about 32.
Good Luck!!
