Topic: RE: DR CARLOS BARBA
Hi all,
I also have had many problems with Dr.Barba. They have cancelled many appoinments with me and their office had very little coninitunity within it. I had cancelled an appointment at 4;50 pm one day because of a pending snow storm. The next day there was no snow and I was in the area of their office and they refused to see me.It was only 9;30 in the morning and found it had to believe that they had already filled my slot as it was only for a fill. He only does fills once a month which many doctors do at least every 2 weeks. And he also does no fill at the time of surgey which many doctors do at least put something in the band at the time of surgey. For me this was the last straw regarding the appointment and not being able to be seen that day. I have been a patient for over a year. I then said I would no longer be a patient of there due to this matter and now I am fighting with them to obtain my medical records. They are stating that I MUST come into there offices to recieve my medical records. They have said nothing about a fee in obtaining my medical records though I am aware that they can charge up to .65 per page of my records if they choose to do so.But again they have said nothing and are still refusing me my records.I am now in the process of filing a formal complaint with them regarding this matter. So don't hesitate to do the same in any matter regarding their office.Good luck to all of you on you weight loss journey.Cindy

Hello there,
There is a great support group at Middlesex Hopsital on Mondays. The third Monday of month is for post op patients. And the forth Monday of the month is for both pre-op and post op. It's from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Topic: OT: Unemployed? I need your thoughts
I'm working on an article/editorial about the myth of the "happily unemployed" that some in Congress have been discussing in the press: the belief that people actually LIKE not having to work, that they LIKE getting that paltry check every week and "not having to do anything" to get it, that the unemployed are content and comfortable with their revised income and prefer it to working.
If you are (or were until recently) unemployed, I'd like to hear your experience(s). You can certainly skip any questions that you are uncomfortable discussing. You can post here or, for privacy, respond by PM. NO NAMES or identifying details will be mentioned in what I write.
- where do you live?
- how long have you been out of work?
- how long were you at your previous job?
- what was your job prior to losing it?
- are you happy being unemployed?
- how many jobs have you applied for since you became unemployed?
- how many job interviews have you been on?
- are you struggling (financially, emotionally, physically), and how?
- are you still carrying health insurance? What are you monthly payments?
- what was your income PRIOR to losing your job, and what it is now?
- how many people are in your family? Their ages?
- what are your biggest fears about being unemployed?
- what is the WORST PART of being without a job?

Hi I llive in Vernon..I weighted 325 in '11/06 when I decided I needed a change. I started dieting then and started looking into weightloss surgeries..I decided on lapband In Jan.'07 I went to Dr. Tishler at hartford Hospital..My first weight there was 297 so I did lose some after all the tests The day of surgery I was 267 then I received the best gift in my life MY LAPBAND 4/30/07 now I weight 168 I love my band.. I went from size 24-14 OMG I was never size 14. I had a problem with the band being to tight so on 2/8/11 they took out fluid and found out I had inflamationo around the band.So they took out 2 cc. from 7 cc Now I really have to watch what I eat because i don't want to gain to much. So please send prayers to me right now. I love meeting new people too. Good luck to you all We can all use new friends who are going on the same journey.
