i had a tummy tuk my insurance paid for that.  i am so bumbed they wont pay for anything else.  i cant get a true bmi.  i so want to do ps but i cant afford it and hubby wont let me finance it.  i have worked so hard i am still smaller than i was i put a few pounds back on but i am now working on getting it off.  i would be so willing to let a doctor who trains in ps to use me .  i am so tired of carring this extra skin around clothes dont fit right.  i get red markes fro things.  so frustrated.

Topic: Connecticare
Hello everyone,  I'm sure this question has been asked thousands of times.  I have Connecticare but my employer does not have the bariatric surgery rider.  My BMI is 42, I have diabetes, arthritis and sleep apnea.  Would Connecticare cover the surgery with my co-morbids?  Anyone know?

Thanks so much!!!

Topic: Revision Tomorrow Orig. Open RNY 8/04

I wanted to reintroduce myself to the Forum. I had Open RNY in August of 2004. Starting weight 435 lbs. My lowest weight was 242 and over the past couple years have become immobile with back injuries and my weight creeped back up to 328. I have seen surgeons for my back. They say I have 5 things wrong with my low back including a buldging disc, arthritis, spinal stenosis & degeneration None of which is severe enough to be fixed surgically so im told to lose weight and excercise. lol Which is funny because some days I can barely walk to the bathroom so Finally find a Bastric Bypass Surgeon who is willing to do a revision & takes my insurance which was a problem in itself.
Dr. Nahmias believes in 2nd chances, and thats what im being given. They are planning to bypass more intestines & make the pouch smaller. aim really nervous. Anyone who has the basics of the bariatric diet would be helpful. Anyone who has had surgery at St. Francis ? Any words of wisdom or advice is welcomed. Ive been on a liquid diet for 2 weeks and im already down to 292 so going in the right direction. Has anyone had their GBS with Dr. Nissin Nahmias. He is wonderful and really wants to help me. Hoping the weightloss will take the pressure off my back. Thats the goal, and if it doesnt then we continue with the back specialists. Just want tomorrow to be here.

Very, very good. No problems at all. A couple times I had a bite or to that may have been a little too much but not sick or anything. Just stand up and walk a little and no more overfull feeling. Start your liquid diet in a couple weeks huh? first couple days are the worst, tempting to eat a small something or other, make sure momma ain't cooking something good those first few days so you won't feel like your missing anything. You ready for this? It's a big deal and I'm still losing but I can see how it would be easy to go off the reservation and overeat again or pack in too many calories my man. Remember this is a great tool, at least for me, but I have to change my perception from now on about what ,when, and how much I'll eat... Down about 32 lbs. in total since beginning liquid diet 5 weeks ago. Knees hurt from arthritis so my walking has only been so so while it's still cold out. I need to work on that a lot. Good Luck Erik...Gimme a holla with any questions or curiosities, and I know the weight loss rate will slow down quite a bit each week here on out as I adjust to regular diet.
