Don't have any postop pregnancy experience myself. Try looking under forums (along top headings) then scroll down to weight loss related topics then scroll down the list until you find the one for pregnancy after having WLS.
Wishing you all the best on your journey. It is probably best to be near your goal weight and stabalize weight before getting pregnant, but I have heard of people getting pregnant several months post op and doing fine.
PS.
Fertility increases with weightloss and your doctor may suggest a good form of birth control until the time is right.
All he best.

Nancy,
Thank you so much for your well wishes. I guess while I was lurking I should have noticed there were more forums!
Thanks for the advice, I will have to check out the RNY forum.

I haven't had a post op pregnancy experience, but I wanted to wish you well on your quest.
I have seen a few people post about this topic on the Roux-En-Y forum. If you don't get any response here you may want to try that forum.

Topic: Pregnancy after RNY
Hello everyone!
I have been lurking around for a bit an decided to finally get up the courage to post. I am working my way through the process, my checklist is getting smaller and smaller!
I went to my first support group and found it slightly unfufilling. I was really hoping to talk to someone who had gotten pregnant after surgery. I am well aware it will be quite awhile before I am able, but being 29 and a newlywed it is something I have to factor in.
Anyone out there have the "post-op pregnancy experience" and could share a few life lessons?
My husband is being very supportive, but that is one of his main worries.
I wish everyone well and thanks in advance for any knowledge you can bestow!

Thanks so much. I'm sure I will have LOTS of questions as I move along in the process.
Maybe question # 1, what made everyone finally decide to have the procedure done? For me, it was more about correcting a lifetime of horrendous reflux ( which had already been surgically repaired in 2000, failed in 2006). The weight loss will be a great added benefit and hopefully will allow me to regain the level of activity I once had. i hate being held back by ANYTHING!

Thanks Sher,
I am happy to be here. Worried about what the 5 day Protein diet will hold, but happy nonetheless!

Thanks Maureen,
It's good to be here. I have just made my appointments to meet with the Nutritionist and LCSW, so the process is moving along!
