I take it that you have a beagle from your name. My baby girl just turned 6 on the 14th. I love Dr. Aranow and have only heard one complaint about him that I ignored because of what it was.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Thanks so much for the link. Looks like we have the same surgeon. Good to know he has a clean record.

Hi Beagle mamma....You can check out the ST of CT Dept of Public Health website..link below.. just type in the surgeon's name and his profile will come up displaying his education, any malpractice suits, etc. Hope this helps. Angie

Hi all,
I have never researched a surgeon before and I want to be as thorough as possible before making a decision on having WLS. How do you research malpractice suits that have been filed against a surgeon?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Allison - Dr. Barba did my original surgery - I just recently switched to Dr. R - this was my second appointment with him. Thanks for your thoughts - you are right - the patients are the employers!

Hi Nancy - You are right - he does favor RNY over lapband but seemed hesitant to perform a revision on my after seeing all my test results - perhaps it's because I'm such a healthy fat person - my only issue is the weight (right now) - everything else is great! He did recommend water aerobics to me - I just have to figure out when to find the time to integrate exercise into my life - two kids and working full time doesn't leave a lot of options - but other people figure it out so I can too!

Thank you - I will see Dr. R in May and then decide if I need to get another opinion. He has such a good reputation that I don't want to make a quick decision - but the next time I see him I will definitely be better prepared emotionally!
