Edmund Chang of Middlesex Gastroenterology Associates. Do you have any experiences with him?

We decided on the Lap band because we thought that was the best for us. It is not as evasive as RNY and thought that would be for us. It has worked out very well so far for all of us. We are all extremely excited about our decision and have not regretted it! However, it is a slower rate of weight loss and you need to be very conscious of your food intake so you don't get things stuck. It's a daily struggle but will be well worth it at the end.

Just curious if you don't mind what made you decide on the lap band and not RNY. Thanks.

Is it possible to get together for tea or coffee and meet in person? I really need to talk to someone about their experience and get more information. I am on the fence about the band or the RNY but I am leaning toward the RNY. Please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks, again, for all the great advice here. I had my psych consult today and it went really well. No problems there, so she'll be sending a clearance letter to Dr Aranow and I asked her to send me a copy as well. My endoscopy is Friday (trying not to be too nervous) and I have my follow-up nutritionist meeting in 2 weeks.
Once I have both my clearances and I know for sure what the results/recommendations from the endoscopy are, I'll see what my next steps are.
Hope everyone is doing great!

My family (me, my husband, my daughter) have all used Dr. Ehrlich (lap band). Him and his staff I found were very personable and easy to get along with. I would definitly recommend him! The hosptial staff were also very nice. Good luck in your WLS journey.
