Topic: RE: Feeling terrible
well the virus cleared up, I think, and I had a pretty good week...I drank and ate alot more over the past five days than I have since my surgery. Today, Saturday, I wake up and I'm dizzy, light headed and feel terrible...why is this happening to me???

Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you.
You most likely will have a drain for a short time. I had two that were removed before I left the hospital, but they kept me in for three days, not sure how long people are staying now so you might go home with one, but no big deal really. WHen the drain was taken out it was uncomfortable very briefly, it felt very weird too as I could feel it moving out but it is quick so try not to worry too much.
Wishing you all the best.

Topic: Come on July 14 already!!!!!!
I am absolutely thrilled to say that I have been approved and have surgery scheduled on July 14 for RNY!!!! After years of wanting this surgery, and being denied by my insurance company, it's going to happen! I am so excited that I think I might have to be sedated until July 14
There is one thing I'm a little nervous about... did anyone have an abdominal drain? I am a veterinary technician and we use them often in surgeries. The animals never really enjoy having them pulled and I was wondering about other people's experiences.
Also, I've told people that I'm close to, but I really don't feel the need to tell everyone I know. I'm pretty sure people will know something is going on once I start losing weight, but I want to keep it to myself for now. Maybe it's because I've tried to have the surgery before and it didn't happen... I'm not sure.

Hi,
I thought I would never get approved but Dr. R's office called and scheduled me next Friday 6/26! I am excited with a hint of nervousness. Thank you for all the advise and support given on this board.
