Best of luck to you -  Sleep test SUCKS but hopefully you will only have to go once. I had the surgery 2 weeks ago and have done well - I have lots of energy though I'm only eating 1/2 cup of soft food 3 times a day. Good luck!

Thanks Bev - I sure hope this tool is better for me - I had such high hopes for the band but it just wasn't the right choice for me - unfortunately that choice will now make a complicated surgery even more complicated having to remove it - oh well - live and learn... How is the band working for you these days? I saw a show the other day on tv where this guy lost about 200 pounds with the band! I wish I had been a success story with it......

Thanks Allison! I would appreciate the best and if I can't have the best - can you make sure the worst isn't the other option?

You won't be too far behind me! Are you going tomorrow? I'm pretty sure I'll be there too - I think my brother-in-law might meet me there as well - I'll look for you!

In addition to being able to eat just about anything - how is the portion size - has that increased as well? I think it's kind of comforting on one hand to know that you don't have to give everything up forever and scary on the other hand to know that it ends up being a struggle just like it always has been - but it must be a lot better looking at 14 pounds as opposed to 114 - right?

Why no picture???

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
Topic: RE: Back
Jim,
I'm two years out with lap band.  Saturday I had a 25th wedding anniversary party for my sister and her husband.  I tried to drink a Mike's Hard Lemonade (Raspberry).  I took one sip and started to burp.  I was so uncomfortable and gave it to my husband.  Too much carbonation.  The band saved me from myself . . . again.
I miss taking big bites . . . like a hot dog with the works.  I don't miss not being able to walk that well with the extra weight.  Or taking meds for hbp, diabetes and cholesterol.  Thank goodness I was able to have this wonderful surgery.
Good Luck,
Bev

Good luck Tammy.  I hope this will work for you better than the band.  Keep us posted on the differences since now you will have experienced both.
Hugs,
Bev
