Revision on 11/13/17
Topic: RE: Dr. R
Pepsi,
I'm also looking into a revision to DS.  The only option that comes close is the VSG, vertical sleeve gastrectomy.  It cuts your stomach down to a small, banana-shaped stomach with normal opening to the intestines.  It's strictly  a restrictive procedure, limiting the amount of food you can eat.  That procedure is sometimes used as the first part of a DS.  The other part is the malabsorption part, where they reroute the duct from the gall bladder and a separate limb from the stomach, meeting up further down in a common channel.  A lot of the surgeons' sites say they do revisions, but don't specify which procedure they revise to!  If anyone has info on a CT doc that does the DS, please let me know!

Thanks,

Kathy

Topic: CCCares Weekly Chat for Fun
Hope you join us.   I hope it gets a little crazy but that is what it is suppose to do
Well my first virtual Chat was not what I expected but I am determined to make this group fun and functional... So I am trying it again only this will be a weekly chat so you can plan for it.

Until we get more going I think a Weekly Chat open to Fun, Fantasy and just some exchange of ideas might be appreciated by all. I know it will be appreciated by me

FYI I will be attending a few other social club meetings this week. I want to scout them out to see how they might fit in with pre-ops, Post-ops, and  Long Term Veterans. One is a Roller blading night and the other is a comedy club.

If we dont have a place for our 1st Greet and Meet I will Host a Potluck Afternoon at my house. But this is still in the planning. I will give you more details once we have them finalized

Hope to see you all here for Wednesday.

When

Every Wednesday @ 8:00pm until 9:00pm

Where

Virtual Meeting
Central Connectcut Cares Chat Room

yes im sure my insurance won't cover it.  they indicated it is not a covered benefit  at all for my plan i am on.  im an employee of this ins company and they give their employees the worst plans possible.  i would fight it but could end up jeopardizing my job so i decided it was not worth that.  i really need my job.

great to hear you are happy with your results.  i hope all goes as well with mine.

Do you know for sure that your insurance won't cover it? I had mine done in October with Dr Duffy at Yale. I have BCBS and they covered it. Both Dr Duffy and his partner Dr Bell do VSG and, so far, everything has worked out great for me. Surgery was a breeze, my weight loss is good, and I'm happy with my choice of VSG.

Good luck!

I've decided on the VSG and wondered if anyone has ever used one of these medical tourism websites.  If so, is there one you can recommend?  I am a self pay patient so I am concerned about getting the best value for my dollar but dont want to compromise safety.

Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR
