Hi everyone. First let me say thank you to everyone for all their well wishes and especially to Bree, you are truly an angle. I have struggled for so long just like the rest of you and suddenly my life is having all these major changes and God blesses me with so many new and wonderful people in my life. Long story (sorry but I can never make them short). Went in Thursday morning, finally went into the first waiting arear to get changed, then Dr. Giovanni came in and said there may be a wait, but there wasn't, they came right up and took me to the OR waiting area. Saying goodbye to my husband Adam was the hardest and I was trying to stay calm. They then took me into OR and suddenly there was like eight people telling me what to do (I don't remember seeing Dr. Giovanni). The next thing I remember was waking up and crying as I felt sick and it hurt, they gave me meds right away and were great to me. I got to my room about 4pm (I think) and my room mate was just leaving. My husband was there and then Bree came in and it was so great to talk to someone *****ally knew what I had just been thru. At 8pm I was exhausted and feeling queasy, I called for meds but they couldn't give them to me till they talked to doctor. Then the hell began (I am normally a nice person) they brought in an 83 yr old woman, legally blind, with a fractured rib who also has alzhimers. The woman procedded to scream non stop until 12:30, calling everyone every name under the sun, she tried to get out of bed and almost fell thru thru the curtian onto me. Meanwhile after no meds and me getting really upset the poor nurses moved me to the next room. The nurses I have to say were terrific and had to go thru hell that night. So at 2:30 am I am in new room, can't sleep and thinking why did I do this? Slept maybe 2 hours, they brought some more liquids in AM, I started walking and they brought more at 12:00. Then Jessica D stopped by which was great as I haven't seen her in a very long time. They then released me, got home after hitting every bump on 91. Even with meds didn't sleep to good Friday, Saturday was a very rough day, all the emotions came crashing in and I lost it. Again thankfully my husband was there and helped me through it. I went to bed Saturday night at 11pm, Slept till 10:45 Sun, got up went through the mail, had a protien drink and decided to lay down at 12:00 and work up at 5:20. Needless to say I have a better mind set now and do feel a little better. See a long story that could have been summed up quickly. I made the mistake of weighing myself Saturday and I had gained 6.5 lbs How is that possible????? That was a huge mistake that I should not have done. Before surgery I asked tehm to weigh me and it was 295 (ok I had hoped to loose a little more before surgery) but how could I gain? the 301.7 is stuck in my head now. I had been taking fluid pills for the last year and a half and I haven't for 6 days, I am tempted to but scared it will cause me to dehydrate? Again Thank You to all of you --This is such a great site, I'll keep you posted Sue

Stay Calm sue, Thats what they do,load you up with fluids because your intake of them will be slow at the start of your "Journey". They will be gone before you know it. So rest up and sip your fluids and all will be well. Take care, Julio

Heeeeyyy Sue, I am glad to see you posted. I just listened to your msg last night and was afraid it was too late to call. OMG! I cant believe you had such a crazy night at the hospital. My roommate was someone who had the same surgery so it was nice. We were good company for each other. Stay off the scale!!! You will see the weight come back down in the next week. You have to get rid of all the fluids you had in the hospital. I gained too, but it will come off TRUST ME! LOL - I told you the ride home would be hell. Did you use the pillow? How is Adam doing? Is he crazy with stress yet? I will try to give you a call tonight to check on you. We have baseball so it may be after 8pm or so. Talk to ya soon. Get some rest, have lots to drink, and take a nice slow walk! Bree
