Hi, I am just at the beginning of the pre op process to have gastric bypass and I have a post op question. Is there anything you can do pre op or post op to help reduce the amount of sagging skin? I didn't know if I lifted weights or did some other type of exercise if that would help. I would love to hear what others experiences have been.

Honestly- No. It's all about genetics and how resilient your skin is. But, building muscle mass will fill up more area and help with the look of the sagginess. That- and recostructive surgery. That's about all you can do Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news.

Hi Jenn. Replacing some of that fat we have with muscle does take up some of sagging skin, but depending on your age and other factors there will be some sagging skin. Know working out has helped me alot! Take Care, Julio
