Good Morning everyone, I need a little help. I currently work at Aetna and the insurance that we have here covers the surgery. I am about 3 weeks away from submission (after 6 months of NUT visits).... Yea!!! The issue that I am having is that I have been looking for a new job and it looks like it may be coming through over the next couple of weeks. This job is at The Hartford Insurance and they have both Aetna and BCBS... As we all know each Employer has the ability to customize its plans, and they can exclude the WLS. I was looking for someone that works at The Hartford to know if either of those plans that they offer covers the WLS. HELP!!!!

Thank you Lisa. I am so close that I can taste it... I mean I have been going through this 6 month thing... and I have my list visit on the 17th.... I see my DR on the 16th... I am really excited and can not wait to be on the losing side..... BTW how long were you out of work? Thanks again for your well wishes... -Jody

I say sit tight until AFTER the surgery. The plan will be different and just because you completed the requirements under your current Aetna plan doesn't mean that you will automatically be okay under the Hartford's Aetna plan.Unless you are being laid off- stay put. AFTER surgery will be better for a job change anyway- you won't have sick and vacation time right away- don't forget that- and (God forbid) if you have a complication and you are out of work longer you may end up losing your new job if its in your trial period.
