Has anyone ever tried this stuff? I found it for a great price at Costco's and am thinking about getting it for my post-op. But I know with this stuff you only mix it with lactaidand sip it through out the day. Do you think its better to spend the extra cash and get the other stuff with more of a varity? Thanx everyone Lots of hugs and April P.S The kind at Costco's has 22 grams of protein in every scoop.

I love my favorite nectar protien drinks but remember your taste will change after this surgery and won't be same taste as pre- op. Do not buy alot of protein drinks and buy samples of protien drinks. Kathy K

Since you are pre-op, I recommend that you not "invest" in too much of anything. Your taste can (and will probably) change after surgery. Mine sure did - the stuff I thought tasted great before, I couldn't stomach afterward. I ordered a sample packet from Bariatric eating - lots of little packets of different stuff. I found some things that I tolerated pretty well and other stuff I couldn't get down. Once you find something that tastes good and agrees with you, then you can invest in a large container. I found out that after surgery, I had a lot of trouble with most whey protein. I am almost 5 months post-op and find the only thing I can handle consistantly is isopure zero carb (the fruit flavors in either powder or premixed glass bottles). The other stuff frequently gives me "intestinal" issues. Hope this helps. Jacqui 246/185/165 (post-op/current/goal)

Hi April, I bought a bunch of samples for post op. THey all told me that my taste buds would change and I'd have no idea which ones would taste good to me post op...so, I went to wwwlwlssupplies.com and www.bariatriceating.com and ordered about 50 dollars worth of samples. They all worked out really well. I did spend the extra money on unflavored Unjury protein. www.unjury.com It's 20gms of protein per scoop. I swore by and still swear by this product. I feel it had a lot to do with my losing NO hair at all post op. I added it to broth, yogurt, juice, especially V8, cottage cheese, tuna fish, you name it...and I put it in it... It's more expensive, about 20 bucks for a tub that lasts for one week if you're using it 3 times a day...but I got on auto ship and they took an additional 15% off the bill. I believe in "you get what you pay for" and for me, it was a rapid recovery, nice incision healing, strength and energy post op, and no hair loss. Now, I use the unflavored, and added in Isopure Chocolate low carb protein powder and love that too. It's 50 gms of protein in two scoops. Good luck! paula
