Just wondering if there is anyone out there from CT that had Dr. Carlos Barba do their panniculectomy (skin removal) and how it went. Or if they opted to have an actual plastic surgeon do it??? Any suggestions/info?

I had and RNY on Jan 7th and the woman next to me for 1 day had it done. All I remember is her crying, oh this hurts so much more than the bypass. That's all I know, sorry.

Oh no that's not good to hear! I heard it was painful. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should go to a plastic surgeon to have the skin removal or just have Dr. Barba do it. Hmmmm. Thanks for your reply.

Hi ... I went to a plastic surgeon.  The surgeon who performed my RNY does not do tummy tucks.  I would think you should go to a PS for that.  I had my TT done December 14th ... had absolutely no problems, little pain, easy recovery and very light scaring ... it is a big scar but very much faded already.  Good luck to you.

Gee, I hope your surgery went well....I take it that NOBODY has used Dr. Barba for plastics??  I specifically remember him saying that if you had to go in for a hernia repair that he would also throw in a tummy tuck...guess who has a hernia???~D id you have a panniectomy or a tummy tuck?  How much did it hurt...how long was recovery??  I am SCARED...but need to get this done!!

HI Haven't been on for a while.  How did your surgery go?  Who was your surgeon? Hope all is well with you and you are happy with your results.

Thanks maboots for responding! I am happy to hear there was little pain. I did decide to go with a plastic surgeon and they scheduled the surgery for 2/14....now I'm nervous!  Hope you are doing well and are happy with your results! Thanks again!
