INTRODUCE yourself....
They gave me my surgery date yesterday - March 4th, I start Optifast tomorrow. It caught me by surprise a bit and I'm a little concerned because I won't be down to the weight he wanted me at pre-surgery. They haven't even submitted the paperwork for insurance but seem confident it will come in time. I guess they know the business better than I :)

71 lb lost pre-op Abdominoplasty & Panniculectomy Dec 4th, 2009 Nice to meet you Nancy.. Not much at all going on in here. But I'm trying to get it moving.. I also have a sparkpeople.com group called lighter steps with weight loss surgery.. check it out

haven't set a goal weight, wouldn't mind losing another 20#, but i am ok if I don't
goals have come and gone and are always changing
chose RNY... recommended by all who helped me make my decision
I am very involved in WLS aftercare, attending various support groups and participate in a monthly Saturday morning group in Middletown, CT http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/CCCares/ I have attended a few OH conferences across the US and plan to attend more. I applaud your efforts to create some excitement on the CT board and would love to meet you.

If you did not choose surgery you are more then welcome to be here and your choice is just as amazing as ours was we still need you and want you here. :) I picked RNY because I need the tools of reduced stomach size and negative feedback when sugars are used. I also picked something that could be done laprascopically because of the other potential issues with surgery I already face. I am looking to find some support and guidance as I go through this journey so it isn't a wasted opportunity.
