Happy Re-Birthday #8

8 years. Wow.  It's almost unbelievable to me.
After 8 years...still going strong and hanging in there.
I'm a little heavier than I'd like to be, but still feeling good.
My knees hurt like the devil sometimes, but otherwise I'm healthy and strong.

Thank you to my surgeon, Dr. Aranow for his skill and this miraculous surgery.
Thank you for the love and kindness of my OH and non-OH friends who have always been so supportive.

Good luck to all of you out there, wherever you are in the process.  I wish you success and health.

And...to any old timers out there- I hope you're also well.  I was sad to see this board so quiet.  We used to be quite the lively group.  I miss it a bit!

Lisa, congrats.... Your post is very inspirational! I wish this board was more active too! Interacting with other posts-ops helps me stay focussed on my goals.

Thanks Dan, nice to meet you.

I agree.  I have a good friend (met her here) that had surgery the week before me and she keeps me grounded.  Being i touch with other post-ops is very important to continued success.

Lisa,

Take a BIG bow.  That's quite the milestone.  Congratulations to you indeed.  Love your positive attitude and so glad you are doing well and feeling good.

I too have Dr. Aranow for my surgeon and I absolutely love him.  He's SO intelligent,  so dedicated to his work, truly cares about the welfare of his patients and is a remarkable surgeon and human being.  I was suppose to have my RNY op this past Monday, Nov. 22nd, but it was postponed as I have to have a motility test...that is scheduled for Dec. 2nd.  Once he has the results of that, I will be having my RNY in December.  I am anxious to join the Loser's Bench and SO looking forward to "Healthier Times Ahead"!

I sure appreciate your enthusiasm and positiveness.  Thanks for helping me with that along my journey.  Wishing you continued good health and happiness.  Congrats on your 8th Anniversary...so inpiring!!

Good luck to you Terry.  Just hang in there, your time will come before you know it!

You're in the MOST excellent of hands- THAT you can be sure of.

I'll give you ONE piece of advice- and only one, whihc will be the key to your success.  Here it is...

Do whatever Dr. Aranow says.  And do it to the letter.  No complaints, no second guessing, no excuses.  Just do it.  He's right.  (I swear!!)

That's all there is to it.  Even if you don't want to hear what he has to say or don't agree, even if it seems too harsh or too har or it hurts... do it, and you''ll be fine.

Many good thoughts & wishes for success coming your way...

All the best, Lisa

Thanks Lisa.

I have all the respect in the world for Dr. Aranow.  You're so right...just do it.  He is very strict and to me, that's what makes him such a grrrreat doctor.  He definitely knows best for sure.  I'm SO thankful to have him.

I sure appreciated your input and good thoughts and wishes.  Much, much obliged Lisa!  :)
