I had the laproscopic RNY bypass on the 16th of august and on the 18th had emergency surgery for
bowel obstruction. I now have a nasty incision that isn't healing very well ( Dr says it's fine) it oozes alot . I'm in lots of discomfort some pain. I'm not able to get myself in a good mind set especially when I see people that had the surgery after me walking around like nothing happened ,It's really tough. I am starting to feel like I'm never going to heal and be able to live a normal life. I am wondering if anyone else had anything like this happen to them after surgery. Any  feedback  would be appreciated.

Have someone else look at it. Can you see your PCP?

Go see another doctor.  My friend had surgery w/Valin and he never saw her again.  His wife is the only one who will see her.  She had a sleeve done and is miserable, cannot eat anything that is good for her without it getting stuck.

Check out Dr. Robert Bell at Yale and his group.  They are awesome and will never steer you wrong.  Good luck, and get seen ASAP!

you should see someone else. I go to Dr Robles in middletown and my incision had some ooze stuff on the bottom.  I'm only 2 weeks out they said its because I'm not getting enough protein so they advanced me. But your further along and should be healed you should definitely let someone else look at it good luck . Shoreline surgical is in middletown if thats closer  not sure.

Definately find another surgeon.  I was a patient of his "practice" for 2 years and the last time I saw him was the morning of surgery..2 years I followed up and never allowed to see him, and when I did request an appt. to specifically see him, I could not get  past his wife.  I had issues with my lap band and found another surgeon to order all the proper testing and found I had a slipped band and H Pyloric bacteria, which I was treated and have been under his care since.

Dr. Bell comes highly recommended if you are looking for someone close to home.

If you have a non healing wound consider going to a wound care clinic, not sure which hospitals are near you, but call and ask if they have wound care clinic or a wound specialist. Sorry you are still having problems. Make sure you are getting LOTS of protein as you need even more to heal a wound. Best of luck.
