Shakes are soooo subjective. I detest, for example, Isopure, but I know people that love them. The only premade ones I can even stomach are Atkins. But it seems like almost every store now sells SOME kind of shakes.

I CAN tell you that I 've seen shakes at:
Stop and Shop
Walgreen's
Walmart
Trader Joe's
Whole Foods
BJ's Wholesale Clubs
Vitamin Shoppe
Vitamin World
GNC

Try some that  you can get in single packs, as opposed to larger quantities. Or, tailor-make them to your own taste by just getting a plain flavored powder and adding fruits, yogurts and flavorings that you might like.

You might also want to Google "low fat protein shakes." There are some really, really good recipes out there.

The only ones I could seem to stomach were the "Pure Protein" shakes.  You can find them at Vitamin Shoppe, GNC and some grocery stores.  They are ready to drink and come in several flavors (Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana, cookies and cream and peanut butter cup).  They have 35 grams of protein each, so two shakes gets you through for the day.  I have to say I got REALLY sick of them by the end of 3 weeks or so, but they got me to soft foods.  Now I pretty much ignore the protein shakes altogether and go for light cheeses and greek yogurt to get my protein in.

Best of luck.

Everyones taste is differant so you may have to try a few before you find one you like. Would suggest getting samples sizes.

I like the vanilla & chocolate unjury which I order online.

Good luck on your journey.

Right now my favorite is Champion Whey Stack in Chocolate. I think it tastes great and doesn't have that weird protein taste that is part of most.   I also like Nectar--fuzzy navel flavor.  You can buy both f these at Vitamin Shoppe.  Also, if you want to try a whole bunch of different kids, Vitalady sells samples for $2.  (www.vitalady.com)

I hope you find something you like!

When I started out someone suggested I order some samples from Vitalady.com They have many different varieties and you can get single serving portions for a 1.99 each to try and see what you like.

Personally, I am not big on the vanilla and only some of the chocolates work for me. I go to Vitamin Shoppe and buy the Nectar juice protein. They come in a variety of flavors and I mix them with different flavors of Crystal Light to change it up. My 2 favs of the Nectar are Strawberry Kiwi and Fuzzy Navel, but every person has their oown preference. They have another brand that's juice based one called 4EverFit, but they only have it in 2 flavors, Strawberry Kiwi and CranRazz, both of which I like.
One word of warning tho, The Nectar flavors don't tend to blend easy in a shaker and especially with ice. I tend to use luke warn water with the protein and shake till blended and then pour it over ice, since I prefer my beverages cold or hot. The 4EverFit one blends better. Just doesn't have the same variety.

If I do Chocolate tho, I get the Body Fortress brand from Walmart. It's only 16.00 for 2 lbs. The Nectar is around 36 and the 4EverFit is about 32.
Good Luck!!

I typically do not buy protein powders/shakes (or anything of caloric value that's consumed as a liquid) because I suffer from EXTREME hunger and find that solid foods are [almost] always more satiating.

The hands down exception is a protein formula by TrueProtein.com (http://www.trueprotein.com/), called CMID (Complete Milk Dairy Isolate).  The product/formula is a certainly an exception and one of the most satiating things I've ever consumed!

In addition to the satiating effect, BOTH the taste and mixability are EXCEPTIONAL, (you really can even comprehend until you try it!).  Additionally, they offer several flavors that don't contain Splenda, asparatame, or any artificals (which I find give me a stomach ache and make me more hungry in the long run).  For those who don't have a problem with artificals, you will be thoroughly impressed with the flavor options (like cookie dough, coconut cream, choc. peanut butter, lemondae, watermelon, etc.).

The customer service is also EXCELLENT, and the staff is very knowledgable/helpful.  The array of products, options, customization will also blow you away! :-)

The ONLY downside is that the are located in California, so it takes over a week to arrive (for my most recent order that I placed on Mon, the stuff arrived the following Tues).  But I can certainly live with that.
