I had the sleeve on June 1 at St. Francis in Hartford. I love it!!! I really did not want anyone messing with my intestines, heard alot about blockages, and know others who have had no luck with the lap band. I also had a hiatal hernia that they found during my pre op testing, and my surgeon fixed it at the same time! Like a 2 for 1 deal! I have lost 51 pounds and am never hungry. The grehelin hormone is gone! Yea! Good luck!

I, too, have the sleeve, as of August 25th.  I choose it also for all the above reasons, and was the absolute best choice for me.  There is a message board here to read more information and hear others' experiences.  (Its also great to know there are others in CT with the sleeve!)

I'm also going for the sleeve procedure at Midstate Hospital in Meriden. Currently am going thru all the pre op requirements. I researched it quite a bit and feel it is the best option for me as well and I can not wait I am so excited!

I had the Duodenal Switch in April which is two parts: the sleeve and the switch (involves intestinal changes).  I really like the restriction of the sleeve and I'm so glad I have my pyloric valve still.  I can drink with meals without worrying about pushing the food through and I can take NAIDS (like Advil and Tylenol).  You may want to google it so you are not just relying on the info you get from a few of us here.  You can also go to the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Board and ask some questions there.
