Hello .......I've been a member of OH for over a year. Started out researching and preparing for RNY then learned about DS but told by DR. Roslyn (a NY DS surgeon) that I am not a good candidate for the DS .  Kind of gave up and had other health issues and I am now trying to get myself back physically enough to pursue the VSG.   I had made an appointment with DR, Roslyn as he now has a MT Kisco, NY office, however, I have since learned that Yale and St. Raphael also do VSG. I would like to hear from anyone that has had the vsg at either hospital and get some feedback on the hospital and the surgeons you had do the procedure on you.

I am also a member of sparkpeople.com which is a great site that has many videos and articles on weight loss , exercises and related issues.  I have found the short videos to be helpful because they are short and easy.

You can post here or private email ....what ever your comfortable with.  I'd also be interested in any insurance information . I have national elevator industry which is through blue cross/blue shield.

Thanks again in advance. I am hoping this journey will take me to having the surgery and becoming healthier and gaining my life back.

I am scheduled to have VSG on June 1st at St. Francis in Hartford. I have United Health Care, so its covered. I am also looking for someone in CT who has had the surgery too. I just started 2 weeks of liquid diet, so am getting there. Good luck!

Hi ,
Thanks for replying. I've since started a weightloss program with Weight Loss Clinic LLC. in East Haven and have lost 22 1/2 lbs in 3 weeks. It's a high protein, low carb no sugar diet mainly shakes , bars and such with one meal of protein and veggies. It's easy and I don't find myself hungry. I'm going to stick with this till something changes with insurance.   I wish you the best of luck and a quick and smooth recovery.  Let me know how your doing.
