Not sure if you will see this before your surgery, but I wish you all the best. I have had several differrent PS done since WLS. You will do fine, what I found after abdominoplasty and panniculectomy was that after the first 24 hours the pain was bearable and was more of a feeling of extreme tightening. Wear you abdominal binder for as long as surgeon instructs and have items you will need at a level that is easy to reach. The drains are not to bad just keep them pinned to your binder so they don't get pulled. I did find that it took many weeks to get my energy level back up and that is normal. Get your fluids in and keep your protien up for healing. Make yourself get up out of bed every few hours at home and walk around, you will have to walk a little hunched over. I did have healing issues postop that took months to heal, but now after some slight incision revisions it looks as it should and I am extremely happy with my results.
If you have any questions at all feel free to ask. Also check in at the plastic surgery message board.

The pain is totally manageable. So far the recovery is much better than I imagined, I have the binder on all the time, am working and have added back in a few protein drinks to help the healing. Appreciate all the advice.
