3 Weeks Today

I'm doing much, much better now - I still feel a little run down but nothing that I can't deal with - I've been tolerating my one ounce of ricotta cheese or cottage cheese or greek yogurt - I even had 2 teaspoons of scrambled egg and it went down - today I get to continue with the pureed phase for 3 more weeks - I think I'm going to try blended chicken salad with some avocado - I get to have an ounce! I'm actually not missing food very much - it's strange because the further away I get from eating food the less appealing it becomes - I'm sure it won't always be this way so I'm not worried or anything - it's actually easier to just drink protein shakes - I don't have to wait 30 minutes before or 1 hour after - I just sip all day - simple is great!

Glad to hear you are doing well.  I will be 3 week on Monday.  So far so good for me too.  You must have read my mind on the avacado and chicken salad.  I tried that for dinner tonight and it went down easily.  I do have the run down feeling and think I need to review my vitamin intake.

What protien shakes are you using?  I just don't like the taste post surgery.   Today I also tried my frst cup of coffee and that didn't taste quite right either.

Things are changing but I think it's for the better.

Since you are so close we should meet some time - for coffee?

Hi - I'm using Unjury shakes - they told me to only use whey isolate and unjury is a really good grade of protein - it blends really well - I have unflavored, vanilla and chocolate - I have been trying all different flavors to change it up - like mixing chocolate protein with a tablespoon of SF Butterscotch pudding - or vanilla with SF Cheesecake pudding - I also got some general food international SF instant coffee - I had some decaf coffee the other day and it tasted pretty good.

How many grams of protein are you getting in a day? I'm supposed to get 100 - and come close to it or meet it almost every day

Warm Regards - Tammy -

Tammy, I am so glad that you are doing better. It is normal to feel "run down". Remember you recently had major surgery and you are taking in a greatly reduced amount of food.

Sounds like you are doing great.... keep sipping!

All my best

I had my revision fron Lap Band to RNY 10/20 and now am two weeks out and feeling better day to day. I want to do more but when I do I get run down. How are you feeling at this time?

Each week is a little better - the first week was brutal - second week better - third week much better - I'm feeling tired because I went back to work part time this week - full time next - I'm getting occassional pains in my right side but nothing really bad....No real hunger yet - I'd rather just drink shakes because it's easy. I'm not in a rush - I know my appetite will return!

How much protein are you getting in a day? How much fluid total? If you don't get enough protein or fluid in each day that has a big huge impact on energy for sure!!

I know I'm not getting enough protein I am working on getting more. Fluids I feel I get enough, maybe I need to work harder on the protein.
