Nurse Report for Dr. Raftopolous
So I mentioned to Dr. Raftopolous that I was not happy with some of the care I received in the hospital, I told him I had a list of the good nurses and CNA's and I was going to write a letter - he wanted to know if I remembered the "bad" nurses and CNA's because he was going to try to make sure that these nurses/CNA's DO NOT take care of his patients! (wish I had kept a naughty and nice list!)
So for all you post-ops - if you've run across a nurse or CNA that was really doing a poor job or a really good job - please either PM me with names - or post them here - I will get the list to Dr. R at my follow up appointment - he said he would make sure it was anonymouse so I figured I mine as well gather as much info as I can for other patients.
On another note - I'm down 23 pounds!! And starting to feel much, much, much better!!!

I am so glad to hear you are feeling better and congratulations on losing those 23 pounds!
As for "bad" nurses, I am a nurse and what you need to do is write a letter to the nurse manager on the unit you were on and explain what happened . Either they were really uncaring , or not educated properly as to what was proper protocal and need to get educated. As a patient you have rights.
Take care
Sher
ps. if you ever are in the hospital again and have an issue with a nurse ask to speak with the nurse in charge or the nurse manager.
Hi Tammy, I am so happy you're rebounding so quickly from your revision surgery. Can you tell me exactly what you went from (original surgery) to what you just had done? Sorry if this is a repeat request, I can't remember 5 minutes ago anymore... in terms of the research you must have done, what are the 'red flags' associated with the type of revision surgery you had - I am especially concerned about more serious malabsorption consequences as I consider a revision. What do you know about what you just had done? Take care - and thanks so much for your post at my other board - how did you find me there?? Maureen

Hi Maureen - I went from a band to a bypass so there wasn't any added malabsorption associated - I never had any to begin with...
I highly recommend you talk to your surgeon or a surgeon about what's going on with you Maureen - you might just be surprised to find a solution that you hadn't considered, it's worth a try right?
I found you because when you go to "your start" page everyone who is listed as one of your friends shows up there with their most recent topics they posted regardless of the forum they posted it in - I'm watching you!
Really Maureen - I am concerned that you are letting this frantic anxiety build up inside you too long and it's going to send you into emotional eating - I could be wrong - and I hope I am - but I would really love to hear that you've made an appointment with a surgeon and a counselor - both will help give you options to help you feel more incharge - right now you don't seem to be in command - take your power back - you can do it! You still are in the realm of normal weight - I have faith in you!

I spoke with Dr. Raf's coordinator this a.m. and will follow up - already doing the emotional eating thing but I am STRONG WOMAN!! What's going on with me right now (and for the past year) is my marriage of nearly 23 years looks to be headed for divorce and I am so, so, so sad about it - trying to find comfort in food has never worked, ain't gonna work now - but logic does not rule over food addiction. Thanks for being there, Tammy. Maureen
