Count down
So I start the two week liquid diet (optifast) on 9/23 - then a two day bowel prep on 10/7 and 10/8 and 10/9 is the day! I still don't have insurance approval yet - I think they're submitting it either Friday or sometime next week.....I still have to go for another blood test - Dr. Raftopolous is incredibly thorough that's for sure! I'm anxious, scared, excited, sad - you know the whole roller coaster ride of emotions......I am grossed out by the thought of coming home with a drain to be emptied twice a day - I felt queezy when Andrea was reviewing it. I am overwhelmed by all the information - when to take what - I have to give myself blood thinner injections for 10 days after I get home from the hospital - anyway - I won't go on and on....Inspiration from those who have gone before me is greatly welcome and appreciated!
Congratulations on moving forward on your revision. (I've been a lurker, not a poster - but I have been following your journey).
I am on my last day of my 2 week optifast. I must say it's been a challenge - and I did add salad as I couldn't deal with just the optifast.
My revision surgery is Tuesday, 9/22. I'm a bit scared but looking forward to it. And as you said - a bit sad too. "Losing" will be very excting, but it also means a variey of losses that are hard to imagine. But.... I really can't wait to get over the surgery on Tuesday and move onto the next step.
Good luck to you!

I had successful lap band surgery in 8/03 (!!) Did very well - lost 115 pounds. Still had lots to lose. Then had a slight slip - another surgery to adjust the band in '05. A couple of years of plateauing and struggling and being frustrated. Then 2 years of gaining and "fighting" against the band - with daily vomiting. Gained back about 80 pounds. Finally decided on the bypass. So tomorrow - I'm having the band removed and having a bypass. I'm a bit scared, but looking forward to it. I'm scheduled for the afternoon - and was told I'll be in the hospital 2-3 days. I'll keep you posted.
I'll just miss you by a couple of days! I'm staring the optifast on 9/23 - let me tell you those opitfasts are really, really heavy - I'm so thankful my husband was there to carry it for me - when I have to go back and get the next week I'm going to bring a carry on travel luggage thing with wheels - there is NO WAY I could carry that all the way from Dr. R's office to the parking garage!!
Best of luck to you!!
Best of luck to you!!
Congrats on getting a date Tammy. The drain isn't that bad. You will do fine, You will find that you get into a routine. I made myself a chart/schedule of things I had to do/take each day to make it less overwhelming.
Before you know it, the weight will be falling off and the 1st few weeks will be a blur.
