Hi Everybody, I received email from few post op people and asked me how many often I weight myself. I do weight myself once a monthly and I can tell different by wearing my size pant. If it is not loosing pant then I work harder in Exercise, increase my protein and load of WATER!!!! I drink more than 100 oz per day . Of course I go to the bathroom after drinking alot of fluids! SMILE! One of my friends send me this and I saved this . I like this words! Read this and save it to remind you when the devil scale calls you to weight on scale! Step Away From The Scale. The scale lies. It tells you a number and we think we're good or bad based on that number. It does not take our behavior into consideration, or how little we have been eating or how much we have been exercising. It only knows a number and we make judgements on ourselves based on this. During the weight loss phase, we need to concentrate on healing first, then retraining our thoughts about food and learn good, new behaviors and making better food choices for the future. To weigh ourselves once in a while may keep us on track, but to weigh all the time is a distraction and can be so discouraging until we get to the maintenance phase. So again, to the new post-ops... Step Away From The Scale. Once a month should be enough! Really! Hugs Kathy K

LOL I finally listened to you a few weeks ago and I have been feeling a lot better since I gave away my scale. Actually I still have the scale but my bf took away the battery. But since I don't have that number staring me in the face everyday, I don't freak out as much about my weight. It also helps that the doctor said that I am done losing weight. Now I don't feel like I am a failure if I am not constantly losing. Thanks Kathy K!

Well I gave up my scale and look at my pant size. I go for a size 8 and now can fit in some 6's, now that is enough for me. I am starting the reconstructive surgery in June and then who knows. I learned about the scale a long time ago, it laughs at you and has no feelings whatsoever, sooo.. I threw it out and refuse to be weighed at all!! That scale sent me into a spin of depression as it never moved, unless I gained some water weight or was at a stand still! BlkNectar

I don't own a scale. I let my nutritionist and surgeon tell me how I am doing. If I stay the path... it will work. Kind of like... if you build it they will come. Towanda
