Any Suggestions?

Ok I need some suggestions for anybody who might be on the CT Husky Program and have Blue Care Family Plan. I need a new PCP who will be supportive of my choice to do WLS. My current one is dead set against it and I'm not real comfortable with her... I mean I go in for an ear ache and I'm being told to undress my top half??? I've never had a DR do that and I don't really like it. Before my insurance changed I had a wonderful PCP in Derby who I started seeing when I had gestational diabetes because he is also an endocrinologist my insurance won't allow me to have him as a PCP If anybody has any suggestions I would be most appreciative! Also does anybody have opinions/advice as far as Dr. Valin goes? I will be attending the seminar on May 4th.

Hi Joleen, I can't help with the PCP but I can tell you my feelings on Dr. Valin. He did my surgery last Monday. I have had my share of surgeries ... none as major as this but I can honestly tell you that it's the easiest recovery I have had. I do have to take it easy for a while yet but Dr. Valin, his wife and APRN, Debbie, and the entire staff have been wonderful. He is a man of few words but I feel you will be in good hands with him. I also asked before I decided on him and got nothing but rave reviews. I can now add mine to his list. Hi, I have a sister who's on the Husky program with her kids and she's having the hardest time finding PCP's for them too. I guess there are fewer and fewer doctors participating and/or willing to take on new patients that have Husky. Is WLS even covered under the plan? Paula
